Yuqian high-speed railway line is an important line in the southwest part of China connecting Chongqing to Guizhou through the mountain area. The competition was for conceptual design of four stations on the railway line. The size of the stations varies from 3,000 m2 to 5,000 m2. The Station for Ganshui has an area of 3,000 m2 which will serve up to 800 people during the peak time.
Ganshui is a town famous for it’s beautiful river landscape and bamboo. As an important public building for Ganshui Town, the station tries to reflect these two local cultural elements. The wavy roof is a reflection of the river. The main facade is divided by vertical elements, which mimics the looking of bamboo.
The station has two platforms with four railway lines. The waiting area is in the middle of the building. The tickets area is in the right wing, and exit is in the left wing.
